Visitor Services manager

Responsibilities include: Staff Management
Responsible for:
Recruitment, training and retention of Gift Shop staff
Fostering a culture of cooperation, focusing on guest's needs, and service excellence throughout the organization.
Ensuring a positive, and inclusive work environment
Coaching and mentoring direct reports to ensure their success
Holding staff accountable for outcomes and a high level of performance
Online Store- manages & maintains online store sales & inventory
Work with Gift Shop supervisor to:
1. Ensure the Gift Shop is aesthetically pleasing through merchandising and product placement
2. Ensure continuous quality of products and pricing with items that fit our Garden aesthetic
3. Foster excellent relationships with vendors
4. Maintain inventory control, purchasing, merchandising, achievement of sales targets
5. Propose innovative ideas to increase sales

Work with Administration by:
1. Updating Director through monthly reporting on the successes and challenges of the gift shop
2. Helping to maintain our Membership database and Member relationships
3. Helping with the packing and shipping of goods
4. Help with events
5. Help with the Flower Bouquet Business
6. Helping maintain the QuickBooks ledger

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
MUST have retail management experience
MUST be organized and detail oriented
Ability to use cash register, credit card processor, and computer
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
Ability to work independently
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Experience with MS Office, QuickBooks, Excel
Ability to deliver consistently outstanding customer service
Experience as a merchandise buyer A PLUS
Knowledge of horticulture and plants A PLUS
Full Time, Excellent Health, Dental and Profit-sharing plan. Pay is commensurate with experience.
